Funeral service for Mrs. Maggie Elizabeth Rutledge, age 89 of Flintville, will be conducted Thursday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Benny Hipps officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery beside her late husband Henry Thomas (Heck) Rutledge. Mrs. Rutledge passed away Tuesday morning at her residence.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Robert and Mary E. Johnson Spray. She was a farmer, seamstress, caregiver and attended Stewart’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include grandchildren Brian Thomas Rutledge  of Flintville, Christopher William Rutledge and wife Patty of Flintville, Carla Renee Rutledge of Atlanta, great-grandchildren Brittany Lea Rutledge, Killian T. Rutledge, Trinity P. Rutledge, Alana K. Rutledge, and Garrett Rutledge, sisters Betty Marshall, Mary Holland McBay and Laura Ellen Parker all of Fayetteville, brother Robert Spray, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rutledge was preceded in death by Henry (H. T.) Rutledge Jr., C. W. Spray Rutledge, Ruby Spray Cantrell, Annie Ruth Bass, J. W. Spray, and Carl Wilson Spray.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
