Mabel Tipton Williams Ivey, age 91, of Petersburg, TN went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2026, peacefully at her home. She was a member of the Howell First Baptist Church. Mabel was born on June 23, 1934, in Yancey County, North Carolina to Gus and Frankie Tipton. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Pap” Williams, Sr., husband Kenny Ivey, Sr., son James Wade Williams, and brother Ralph Tipton.
She was a retired federal agent, avid gardener, and God-fearing Christian. She is survived by her son Robert (Debbie) Williams, Jr.; daughter Arlene “Lu” (Steve) Moorehead; daughter-in-law, Sharon Williams; grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Amanda Cavanah, Erin (Rob) Marks, Andrew (Brandy) Welch, and Michael Williams; great-grandchildren, Kara and Will Minor, Jessa Cavanah, Bailey and Maddie Welch, Bennett and Atlas Williams, Emma Williams, and Ansley, Garrett, Stella, and Haddie Marks; brothers, Farrell (Brenda) Tipton and Eddie Tipton; and sisters Emma Jean Laws and Eva Lee Howell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Howell First Baptist Church with Brother Brian Gass officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Howell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Howell First Baptist Church building fund, 491 S Fishing Ford Road, Petersburg, TN 37144.
