Graveside service for Loyd Ray Williams, age 72 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4 pm at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Clardy officiating. Burial will be beside his wife Shirley Sowell Williams. Mr. Williams passed away Thursday at his residence.
Mr. Williams was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Perry and Lena Owens Williams. He was cattle farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister Margaret Campbell of Elora, brother Leon Williams of Fayetteville
and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home prior to graveside service.
Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family of Loyd Ray Williams.
While I was visiting Mr. Carl Wingo, I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Mr. Ray. Mr. Ray became my friend. I am very blessed to have met one of God’s true angels. Mr. Ray taught me a lot about caring for the ones you love and respect. Mr. Ray was a trooper and he had such a “gift of gab”. Mr. Ray is now with his wife and I know in my heart that he is happy. I will miss him dearly. Again, I am so blessed and honored to have met Mr. Ray and had the opportunity to spend time with him.
