Funeral service for Mrs. Lizzie C. McGee, age 97, of Mulberry, will be conducted Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery beside her husband Eugene McGee. Mrs. McGee passed away Saturday September 19, 2015 in Christian Care Center in Shelbyville, TN.
A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Abraham and Mary Magdalene Bledsoe Casteel, she was a seamstress, and a member of the Mulberry Church of Christ.
Survivors include nieces Gladys Fraser, Susie “Katherine” Armstrong, Florence Reed, Elizabeth Warren, Marilyn Hart, Mary Jo Gibbs, Rachel Smith, Stella Epperson, nephews W.A. Casteel, Loyd Curtis, Clayton Curtis, and Toby Casteel. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Charles Ray McGee, Nancy Lynn Chaplin, Peggy Carter, Lucille McBee, Mary Ann Chapman, Bernice Good, Kenneth McGee, Elizabeth Long, Faye Hargett, Carolyn Tripp, Glyn Bartlett and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
