Levi James Meeker, beloved son, father, brother, grandson, and friend departed this life on December 9, 2024, at the age of 22. Services to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 10 am until time of the service on Saturday at Higgins.
Levi, born on July 31, 2002, in Nashville, TN, was a 2021 graduate of Lincoln County High School. He worked with Terminix in Huntsville, AL for about a year. Levi had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, spending his time fishing or shooting hoops on the basketball court. A curious mind, he was captivated by the mysteries of space and found joy in music. With a quiet and gentle demeanor, Levi was known as an old soul—kind, accepting, and a devoted brother.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nova Arrell, his father, Joshua Meeker and his stepmom, Amanda; his mother, Robin Dackman and his stepdad, Jacob Dackman; his siblings, Ezekiel, Sophie, Hili, and Gilad; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
The family is being cared for by Higgins Funeral Home, who is honored to serve during this time of loss.
Levi was such a special person with a smile that could light up any room and a heart full of love. I had the privilege of being there when my granddaughter, Nova, was born, and I’ll never forget the beautiful moment when I placed her in his arms for the first time. The love and joy in his eyes were unforgettable. Though he is not with us, I find comfort knowing that he will shine down like a star, watching over Nova as she grows and through all of life’s moments. Nova absolutely adores her Daddy and we will continue to share our memories and love of Levi with her throughout the years. Our hearts are broken, and our family sends our deepest condolences to Joshua and Amanda, Robin and Jacob, Ezekiel, Sophie, Hili, and Gilad and to all who loved him. He will be greatly missed.
There truly are no words to communicate the depth of emotions of grief we share with Levi’s daughter, parents, siblings, Aunts, Uncle, and Grandparents at this moment. Also, for closest friends and extended family members. His is A Tender Deep Soul who lives on in the love of all these listed above. We will see you again and continue to Love, Keep, and Long for you physical presence but will treasure every twinkle of your eyes, every crooked smile when you held a new fish. Although I did not know him personally, I knew that Levi had a beautiful, and shining soul. In my time spent with Hili, Gilad, and their parents, I have heard some of the wonderful memories this family shared and saw how Levi was that shining star. I felt like I knew Levi in the ways he lived through the people that impacted him the most, and am beyond grateful to have that shared with me. I always will be. The love, the warmth, and the joy he brought into so many ordinary peoples lives will never be forgotten. It proves how big his heart was and how far his love truly reached. I am so sorry for your loss. Levi was such a good kid. We met him once but I always remembered how sweet he was. I met you all when we (me and my son Luca) were at Marina and Bill’s and the kids were young. My thoughts are with you. What a terrible loss.
Our hearts are broken at the loss of Levi. I had the opportunity to visit Robin and Jacob at the same time as Levi. We had great conversations about music . I told him I was so impressed with the mature, respectful, and sweet, man he had become. I’ll cherish all the memories of watching him grow up and playing with my kids. My heart is broken for Robin, Jacob, Josh, Amanda, Ezekiel, Sophie, Hili, and Gilad, and his precious daughter Nova. Praying for peace and comfort. Gone to soon, but we will see each other again. So sorry for your loss. We have so many memories of Levi over the years, especially him visiting us in Fairhope.. Levi was quiet and gentle and grew to be a tall and handsome young man. I also remember he loved to fish.
I’ll never forget when I found out Levi was having a baby the same time I was. Our baby girls are days apart and it reconnected us as we hadn’t seen each other since we were kids. He was so kind and funny. I’m grateful we were able to talk the last few years. My thoughts and love are with all family and friends.
