Funeral services for Leeo Gerald Moon, age 70, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11am on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home and Bro. Ed Johnson and Bro. Cleo Moon officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5pm until 8pm on Thursday, December 28, at Higgins Funeral Home.
Leeo was born December 26, 1952, in Huntsville, AL to the late Oscar Floyd and Dollie Jeanette Hyatt Moon. He attended Walnut Grove school and graduated from Flintville High School in 1972. During his working career Leeo spent time working for Cooks Pest Control, Martin Stove, and Goodman where he worked for 30 years and retired. Leeo was a staple of the community and enjoyed coaching multiple youth teams over the years.
Leeo was a dedicated father and grandfather whose greatest loves in life were his daughter and grandchildren. He was a Christian attending Baptist churches the majority of his life, a talented piano player, and loved bluegrass and gospel music with all his heart. Leeo was a giving person who loved to hear people laugh and loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. One of Leeoβs favorite things to do was research his ancestral and local history within Lincoln County and abroad and share it with the community any chance he got. He passed away December 24, 2023, at HH Lincoln Health in Fayetteville.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracy Hillis and her husband Rodney; grandchildren, Luke (Macy) Hillis and Jacob Hillis; siblings Faye Malone, Sue Wilbanks, Cleo Moon, Kyle Moon, Willie Bob Moon; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members. In addition to his parents, Leeo was preceded in death by his sisters, Sylvia Campbell, Glenda Moon, Mary Moon; and his brothers – Terry Moon, Larry Moon, Theo Moon, Dexter Moon.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Judeβs Childrenβs Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Leeo you’re definitely going to be missed, I will miss all your posts on Facebook, you would make my day with them. We only met a couple times in life I wish it could’ve been more cause we would’ve definitely drove each other crazy, God took home another great person, my prayers are with the family and friends
