It is with regret we announce the passing of LaVerne Towry Campbell, age 89 of Franklin, TN, formerly of Fayetteville. A private graveside service was held at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
LaVerne was born October 25, 1932, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Henry Clay and Velma Bolander Towry. She met her husband Charles Campbell while working at Genesco and the two moved to Nashville after he received a promotion. LaVerne enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and she and Charles were the ping pong champions of the General Shoe Plant. At Charles’ retirement the couple moved to Franklin to be spend more time with their family. LaVerne passed away December 23, 2021, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Brentwood.
Survivors include her son, Barry (Pat) Campbell; grandsons, Doug (Kristina) Campbell, Daniel (Melody) Campbell; great grandsons, Forrest Campbell, and Walker Campbell; and sister, Osalene Smithson of Knoxville. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Wilson Campbell; and brothers, Smith Towry and Calvin Towry.

I’m so sorry to hear about Aunt Lavern’s death. She and I enjoyed many great conversations and we had a good tome when I spent the night with her in Franklin. I always thought of her as a beautiful, person inside and out. You have my deepest sympathy.

Prayers to Barry and Pat for the loss of your mother, Aunt Lavern was always sweet and kind, loved her laugh and smiles, she will be missed but we all have the memories.
