He loved the family pets, dogs Puppy and Caylee Belle and cat, Callie. He was preceded in death by one precious 18 pound cat, The Colonel.

He was immersed into Christ as a teenager and is a member of the Church of Christ at Washington Street. Over the years he served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and missionary, coach, and a licensed auctioneer. He enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening, knives, marbles, paperweights and his friends at The Round Table. But most of all, he enjoyed his family.
