Obituary

It is with regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Kathryn Lucinda Hargrove Swing, age 89, of Fayetteville. Mrs. Swing was a native of Madison County, Alabama and born on September 6, 1927 to the late William and Anna Hill Hargrove. She worked for Serbin, and later was a foster grandmother at South Lincoln and Highland Rim Schools. Mrs. Swing was of the baptist faith and passed away on August 3, 2017 at Fayetteville Care and Rehabilitation.

Survivors include her daughters, Joy (David) Hereford of Pellum, AL and Pam (Dennis) Welch of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swing was preceded in death by her husband, Felix “Ray” Swing in 1985; son, Don Swing and his wife Darlene; grandson, Wesley Quick; and several brothers and sisters.

Private family service was held at Kirkland Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Kathryn Lucinda Hargrove Swing.

    Sorry to hear of your loss. I didn’t know Miss Kathryn but when visiting a friend in the nursing home I saw her name and stepped in for a visit. At that time she was going home shortly. Her husband Ray is my mother,’s cousin.
