Obituary

It is with regret we announce the passing of Karen Diane Taylor, age 65, of Cookeville, TN. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Elmer Gene Barr officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Karen was born July 12, 1956, in Davidson County, TN to the late Rev. John F. and Roena Barr Taylor. She was a veteran of the US Air Force and worked as a data processor for Glaxo-Wellcome. Karen spent her free time volunteering as a secretary for the Kidney Foundation, a cause very dear to her. She passed away April 15, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital.

Survivors include her sister, Sharon and Larry Ventress of Fayetteville; brother, Ray and Carmen Taylor of Dallas, TX; niece, Mikalaa Carter; great-nephews, Aiden and Colton Carter; special cousin and caregiver, Genell Barr; as well as several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015-9959.

    Karen wasn’t just a cousin she was my best friend. I’m so glad I got to share the last years of her life. She was such a kind and giving person that we should all try to be more like. Will miss her cheerful smile and beautiful blue eyes. May you find comfort knowing how much she was loved.
