Obituary

Funeral service for Joyce T. Weir, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Joyce was born on November 6, 1944, in the Boonshill Community of Lincoln County, to the late Crawford Vinning Thompson and Ruth Bernice Parks Thompson. She worked as a clipper with Serbin, Lee Manufacturing, and retired from Walmart. Mrs. Weir enjoyed sewing, working in her flowers, and cooking for her family. Joyce passed away on December 8, 2022, at Meadowbrook Senior Living in Pulaski, TN.

Survivors include her son, Tim (Christy) Weir; grandson, Ryan Weir; sister, Edith Sandlin; brother, Ray (Joy) Thompson; and nephews, Lynn (Melissa) Sandlin, Steve (Tammy) Sandlin, and Gary (Lisa) Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Weir.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.  Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Joyce T. Weir.
