Graveside service for Mr. Johnny Joe Collier, age 87 of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Randy Groce officiating. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.
Joe served his country in the U.S. Army and then went on to pursue a career with Boeing. After his retirement from Boeing, he continued to pursue his love of golf with family and friends, and was considered a great golfer by those who played with him. He was a graduate of MTSU where he was captain of the football team, he continued to be an avid supporter of MTSU and attended several games over the years. As a child he attended the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ where he was baptized.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Collier; nieces Judy (James Morgan) Wagster Toon and Vicki Lynn Presley; nephews Eddy (Carrie) Johnson, Curt (Evelyn) Young, and Phillip (Diane) Wagster; great-niece; Allison Johnson. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Glenn Thompson, Margaret Young, and Alice Wagster.

Imogene, one of my favorite childhood memories about Christmas was going to see Joe and Imogene and you both always standing on the carport stairs waiting for us. Thinking of you, Imogene.
Imogene, so sorry to hear about Joe. Don’t know if you knew I lost my youngest daughter , Susan, in June 2019 to cancer. Hard loss to handle. Her girls are now 20 & 16. The oldest one going to MTSU.
