Obituary

It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. John Thomas Hardin, Jr. age 83 of Fayetteville, TN. Memorial service will be at 2 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Smith, Rev. Tom Smith, and Marine Smith conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Garden of Honor at Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 12 pm until time of the service on Sunday, July 17 at Higgins.

John was born August 12, 1938, in Lincoln County to the late John Thomas and Eleanor Baugh Hardin, Sr. He was a veteran of the US Navy and owner of West College Storage. John enjoyed watching sports, golfing, woodworking, and painting. Mr. Hardin passed away July 9, 2022, at his residence.

Survivors include his son John Thomas (Tommy) Hardin, III and his wife Jami, of Hoover, AL; sister Martha Shelton of Centerville, TN; bonus grandson John David Wilson; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Frank Hughes. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bishop; and brothers Eddie Hardin and James William Hardin.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Beech Grove Methodist Church, 161 Hughey Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334, or Fayetteville/Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Hwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Mr. Hardin but could I suggest you submit his picture to the Lincoln County Warrior Exhibit at 113 Main Avenue North. As a local veteran he is eligible to be honored in the Exhibit.
