It is with regret that we announce the death of John Stephen “Steve” Mathis, age 70, of Fayetteville, TN. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Steve was born on September 4, 1950 in Lincoln County, TN to the late James S. Mathis and Frances Vann Mathis. Steve had a bachelors degree in Psychology and worked as the security manager for Qualitest Pharmaceuticals until his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. Steve passed away on April 8, 2021 at his residence.

In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by his son, Justin Mathis; daughter, Stephanie (Steve) Skeen; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother, Van Mathis; and sisters, Teresa Owen and Chris Land, and special friends Debbie and Maverick.
