Uncle John H ( as we always called him) was the only uncle I had. Even though I only saw him I few times in my life, he was very special to me. My mother (his sister) and him had a very close bond, They were the youngest two in their family. I always loved his gentle demeanor and his wonderful laugh. I wish we had lived in Tennessee instead of Michigan, I would have loved to have spent more time with him and his family. He is in heaven now with his wonderful wife, Aunt Alda and all of his sister, Rest in peace Uncle John H. I love you.

My heart goes out to Patricia and Johnny, I wished I could have gotten back down there to see my dear Uncle John H. before he passed. I know he is now with my mom and all the others in his family that passed on before him.

I remember all the stories about my uncle that my mom would share with us, and how he called me peanut when I was a small girl. I also remember several years ago when we came to visit with him, how tears came to his eyes and he said I looked just like his baby sister (my mom, Elizabeth). I will hold that memory in my heart the rest of my life. RIP Uncle John H. I love you….

Thought of this story I wanted to share with the family —
Mr. John gave me my first weather forecast lesson – I’ll never forget it. I thought he was talking about somebody coming back to visit him when he told me El nino would probably be here by Friday.
We sometimes rode together going to NASA. It was always so good to see Mr. John and Miss Alda, they were so sweet to me.
    God Bless you,
    Peggy

    Tricia and Johnny,

When I think of you dad, I think of his quiet manner and soft smile. Know that I will be thinking about you during this difficult time. First your mother and now your dad. That’s a lot to deal with.

    Dear Friends,

We know Mr. John and Mrs. Alda are so happy to be back together. They were just the best role models for us when we came to First Baptist Church. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of saddness. I know there is celebrating in Heaven today, as John joined Alda with the Father.

    Love to you all,
    Bob & Cindy

We are so sorry for your loss. Alda and Mr. Hurt were the most congenial, happy couple in town. I have missed their smiling faces so much. There just aren’t many people better than those two. Please know that you have our sympathy and our prayers.
