Obituary

It is with regret we announce the passing of Mr. John Clyde George, age 64, of Fayetteville, TN. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Prospect Cemetery with Bro. Randy Nichols officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until 11 AM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

John was born on December 14, 1956 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Clyde and Clyta Pickett George.  Mr. George was an artistic brick mason. John was a Sunday School teacher and deacon at Maranatha Baptist Church. He passed away on October 22, 2021 at Lincoln Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rita Lynn Steadman George; son, Micah John George; brother, Tommy George of Savannah, GA; sisters, Vickey (Max) Buchanan of California, and Pam Quijani of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Sandra (Kelly) Stevenson of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Randi Lynn George.

Memorial may be made to the Maranatha Baptist Church, 187 Old Huntsville Rd, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. John Clyde George.
