Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. John Calvin Goodrich Jr. age 76 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Wednesday at 10 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Goodrich passed away Sunday evening at Donalson Care Center.

A native of Lincoln County, Mr. Goodrich was the son of the late John Calvin and Lida Lee Bruton Goodrich. Mr. Goodrich owned Jack’s Pawn Shop, was a past President of the Fayetteville Golf and Country Club, Foreman of the Grand Jury, served on the Fayetteville Gas Board, was an avid golfer and knife and gun trader, and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Goodrich of Lynchburg son John Holt Goodrich of Lynchburg daughter Marian Lee Hopkins of Elora, grandchildren Jennifer Lee Hamlin of Elora, George Ryan Hopkins of Huntsville, Zachary Good of Holly Pond, AL great grandchildren John Evan and Blair Elizabeth Hamlin of Elora, sister Page Maddox of Oak Ridge, nephews Bob Farrar of Maryland and Johnny Maddox of Knoxville,. Mr Goodrich was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Farrar.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 5 PM till 8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
