Obituary

Funeral service for Joe T. “Tommy” Stevenson, age 98, of Taft, TN, will be conducted at 1 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Thursday at Higgins.

Tommy was born on November 3, 1924, to the late Coleman and Agnes Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson was a lifelong farmer in the Coldwater Community. He drove Lincoln County School bus for 19 years and was a Lincoln County Commissioner for 20 years. Tommy passed away on December 23, 2022, at Tri Star Summit Medical Center.

Survivors include his son, Larry (Cheryl) Stevenson; daughter, Ann Stevenson (Joey) Parker; daughter-in-law, Delilah Stevenson; grandchildren, Chad (Marcy) Stevenson, Alicia Stevenson (Dave) Kelley, Justin Stevenson, Leslie Stevenson (Jeff) Sims, Lauren Stevenson (Drew) Wembley, Stevenson Parker, and Will Parker; and great-great-grandchildren, Ben Kelley, Aiden Kelley, Collin Kelley, Cooper Stevenson, and Cole Sims. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Smith Stevenson; son, Joe Billy Stevenson; and brothers, John William Stevenson, and Kenneth Stevenson.

    Ann & family: always enjoyed going to Prosperity with your family many years ago. Used to see Mr Tom.y at Marvin’s restaurant, he was always such a gentleman, will be missed. My condolences!
