Funeral service for Joe Dixon Faulkner, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 1 PM on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM at Higgins.
Joe was born on April 1, 1941, at home, in Lincoln County, TN to the late William “Bill” Dixon Faulkner and Vivian Rebecca Solomon Faulkner. He was a graduate of Central High School and worked as a foreman with Amana. Mr. Faulkner was a member of the Fayetteville Elks Lodge 1792, the Lincoln County Sportsman Club, and the Lincoln County Harness Racing Association. He owned, trained, and competed harness racing horses. Joe passed away on August 12, 2022, at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville, TN.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Debbie Smith Faulkner; sister, Betty June Whitsett; bonus son, Thad Eatherly; grandchildren, Leigha Faulkner Haynes, Will Faulkner, Lauren Marie Oetken, and Kolton Faulkner; great-granddaughter, Norah Jean Haynes; several nieces and nephews; and loyal friend and fishing buddy, Mark Blackwelder. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lynn Faulkner; brothers, Billy Thomas Faulkner, and James “Jab” Faulkner; and sisters, Mary Sue Gray, and Martha Anne Boyd.

Aunt Boop we are so sorry about Uncle Joe. He sure was a character. And don’t let him and daddy get together…the were always into something. He will be truly missed and by you the most. But always remember he will forever be in your heart…Fly high Uncle Joe…you and daddy can go fishing again.
Joe was a kind and fun to be around person…we enjoyed his company and will miss his laughter.
