We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Joe Allen Smith Holt, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN. Mrs. Holt was born October 2, 1932, in the Taft area of Lincoln County, TN to the late Hubert Farris Smith and Tennye Hardin Smith. She was raised in the Coldwater community, however she lived most of her life in Nashville. Mrs. Holt passed away in the care of her loving husband on May 3, 2023, at her home.

Joe worked for Bellsouth for 30 years, and after retirement she went on to work at the VA Hospital for an additional 10 years. She was a member of the Sylvan Park Free Will Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed bowling and participated in a league for many years. She especially loved spending time with her friends and family, and the joy of her life was her black poodle, Princess.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald Wayne Holt; sisters, Myra Arney and Romine Berryhill; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and her sisters-in-law, Lynda Lynch, and Bonnie (John) Bibbee. Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Smith and Tennye Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, TN. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Myra and Romine I was so sorry to see the loss of your sister. It seems like there is a lot of sickness and deaths since we have such a change of weather. I wish I could do something for you but I am almost confined to my chair. You all will be in my Prayers. Love Joyce
