Richard was a faithful and loving brother till his end. He loved his garden and flowers always keeping his yard full of flowers. He gone on to a place in heaven were the flowers never fade and garden full of everlasting fruit. RIP MY BROTHER. I always mess you.
Richard was a sweet Christian man who believed and trusted in the Lord. I always enjoyed talking with him. He did love his flowers and enjoyed taking care of his place at the Tollgate House in Mimosa. He was a devoted son to his mother and grandmother. He would always speak when I’d run into him out eating somewhere such as Mildred’s or Marvin’s. I remember when he had a bike wreck and it tore up his bicycle, Dr. Hughes had a new one delivered to his house. He went on so about Dr. Hughes’ kindness, his new bicycle and just loved it. He rode that bike with pride. Richard was a kind hearted soul that always made you smile. He will be missed by many, especially his mother. My sympathies to his family.
BLESS HIS HEART, HE WE SURELY BE REMEMBERED FOR THE KIND HEARTED MAN HE WAS, I DO BELIEVE ANYONE WHO KNEW RICHARD WAS BLESSED, HE WAS A VERY SIMPLE MAN, WHO LOVED HIS MOTHER DEARLY AND WAS ALWAYS BY HER SIDE…HE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY..
Many times Richard would ride into town with me. He always shared with me his love of his flowers, his Christmas decorations, and most of all his love of his grandmother, mother and those who were kind to him. The Toll House was his pride and joy. I pray that he has found an even more beautiful garden to tend now. Indeed, I feel God places angels among us to see just how true our faith is. Thank you to the Richards of this world for helping us see what is important.
Jackie and I met Richard fifty years ago when we all began first grade. He has been a friend all of that time and was the same ol’ Richard everytime I saw him. He would always stop and bring me up to speed on things in his life whenever I would see him ride by on the way to faithfully take care of his mother at the nursing home. I agree with Walter Sloan whole heartedly. I extend condolences to his family. Rest in peace old friend.

Richard Chick was one of the sweetest people I ever met……He did love his flowers and canning…..he was proud as a peacock to put his flowers and fruit in the fair……Always quiet, with that little boyish smile every time I saw him. I will miss just running into him here and there. R.I.P. my sweet friend till we meet again.
I did not know this man but heard yesterday that he had passed away. The messenger had only good things to say about this man. I have read what Walter wrote regarding him which is so beautifully written and a testimony to him. We should all take notice of such ones that live among us and follow their example. Life is indeed short at its longest. i send my deepest sympathy to this family.
Richard lead a simple life living in the Tollgate House on Mimosa Road. He loved and was proud of his home, his flowers and most of all he loved his Grandmother and Mother. Over the past few years, Richard has become a friend I shall remember fondly. He reminded me that it is not what we have that makes us memorable, but what we do with the things God blesses us with. Richard has a new bicycle with good tires and pedals that won’t break, no more pain and no more sorrow. God speed my friend.
