Obituary

Memorial service for Mrs. Jean Holloway Hemphill, age 85, of McMinnville, TN, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Higgins Funeral Home with Paul Roberts officiating. Mrs. Hemphill passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Mrs. Hemphill was a native of Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Frank and Bernice Sorrells Holloway. She was a secretary and was a retired bookkeeper for Hemphill Tire. She enjoyed church, volunteering at River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN, reading, and spending time with family.

Survivors include her daughters Ann Hemphill, Pat Hemphill Cavender both of Fayetteville, Carol (Gary) Hemphill Stinson of Hendersonville, TN, grandchildren Jonathan Stinson, Brandon Stinson, Jennifer (Anthony) Cummings, Jay Cavender, great-grandchildren Jadon, Zailie, and Tylie Cummings, and sister Foncene (Fred) Venn of Arizona. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bryce Hemphill, siblings Inez Freeman, Ruth Leal and Milton Holloway.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203 or Christ Community Church, 217 Underwood Road, McMinnville, TN 37110.
