Janchai was a talented gardener who tended her large vegetable garden, fruit trees, and vines; her homemade wine won many blue ribbons at the Lincoln County Fair. She loved cooking, needlework with her regular knitting group and exercising at the Senior Center. Janchai was a familiar face and fixture at Cahoots restaurant where she was employed for 27 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Layne of Fayetteville, TN. She is survived by her daughter, Hthaiwon Layne and son-in-law, Jay Bernasconi of Boston, MA; sisters, Jurailux Narkpoklang of Nonthaburi, Thailand and Thanom Suebkha of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand; and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her two beloved grandchildren, Gryphon and Isadora of Boston, MA.
A celebration of life will be held on September 29 from 1-3 pm at Cahoot’s Restaurant. The family will hold a private burial for both David and Janchai at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
