Obituary

Funeral services for James (Jimmy) Osborne, age 85 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday at 11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Osborne passed away Wednesday night in Huntsville Hospital.

He was a native of Elora and the son of the late Fred and Leona Dodson Osborne. He served in the Army 82nd and the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. He attended the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Mr. Osborne was a retired operating engineer for Local 150, retired from the Illinos Central Railroad after 25 years and a former business owner. Upon retirement, he returned to his home in Tennessee.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Jeannette Watson Osborne of Fayetteville, seven children
Kathi Hutnik and husband James of Chicago Heights, IL, Jana Range and husband Bill of Waterloo, IL, Terri Falletti and husband Dennis of Somonauk, IL, Robin Osborne-Grue and husband Dave of Castle Rock, CO, Lisa Marthaler and husband Ed of Homewood, IL, Fred Osborne of Fayetteville, Jimmy Osborne, Jr and wife Sonja of Hazel Green, AL, 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to The Wounded Veterans Fund.
