Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. James L. “Jimmy” Daniel, age 86, of Taft, TN, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Bates and Bro. Roger Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Blanche Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born on November 7, 1936, in Lincoln Co., TN, to the late Carl and Eunice George Daniel. He worked as a surveyor for 44 years with Lincoln County Farm Services, and he loved talking to all the Lincoln County Farmers. Jimmy spent most of his time gardening for his family, hunting, and sitting in his shop talking about the old days with family and friends, especially Dan Douthit his friend and neighbor. He was known as Pap to his grandchildren, except Hagan, and to him he was Pap Pap, and he was dearly loved by them all. Jimmy was a member of the New Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Daniel passed away on April 21, 2023.

Survivors include his sons, Benny (Nancy) Daniel of Union Grove, AL, Ward (Pam Hamrick) Daniel, and Max (Brenda) Daniel both of Ardmore; daughter, Sandra Ventura of Taft; grandchildren, Carol Daniel of Arab, Stacey Daniel of Union Grove, Kimberly (J.K.) Heard of Ardmore, Kirk Daniel and Abigail Daniel of Murfreesboro, Nate Ventura of Taft; three great-grandsons; and his beloved dog, Little Bit. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Sue Daniel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334, or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

    I was sorry to learn of Jimmy passing. I worked with him for years at the tobacco wear house. He was always so nice to work with. I have not ween him in a long time. Prayers for his family.
