Funeral service for Mr. James Gilmore Mills age 78 of Huntsville, AL, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Petersburg First Baptist Church with Terry Mills and Larry Hames officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Mr. Mills passed away Saturday morning at Ardmore Care.
A native of Harris, AL and a long time resident of Petersburg, TN, he was a truck driver and a member of the Jackson Way Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Dorothy “Geri” Mills of Huntsville, AL, three sons Jerry Dale Manley, Mike (Connie) Mills, Terry (Sam) Mills all of Lewisburg, TN, two daughters Vicki (Darrell) Horton of Smyrna, TN, Kathi (Steve) Calahan of Lewisburg, TN, one step-son Steve (Rita) Hogue of Huntsville, AL, one step-daughter Saundra (Todd) Martin of Huntsville, AL, one sister Opal Lee Mills Hames of Petersburg, TN, 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil “Pete” Willard and Mary Jane Rogers Mills and sister Nettie Elizabeth Mills Foster.
Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home and from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Monday at Petersburg First Baptist Church.
