Mr. Jim was an integral part of my time as a student at Ethridge School. His job at the school was challenging but he always had a smile for everyone who saw him. He was so kind and warm to his students! He affectionately referred to me a a “troublemaker” or “trouble” each time he saw me. Since my return to EES as an employee, I have often thought fondly of my memories of Mr. Jim as I have walked the hallways. He will forever be a part of EES to the students who knew and loved him.

Mr. Jim was a blessing to all of us at Ethridge Elementary School. Mr. Jim, Mr. Earl, and I enjoyed the many laughs we shared each day.

Mr. Jim was like a second grandfather to me. He built my cubbies for my first classroom. I will forever be grateful for the kindness and love that he showed me. Sending prayers for his family.

Mr. Jim was always willing to go above and beyond at Ethridge School. He loved to aggravate me and so did I to him in return!!! It was a daily dose of fun between us as he swept my room!!! I’m so glad to have gotten to know him and I’m praying for his precious family during this difficult time!!!!

Jim also Know as big biter from the neighborhood kids. My childhood wouldn’t have been the same without him teaching us lessons on how to get along, he always had a joke and he allowed me to have as many cookies as I wanted,, just remember not to put a finger near his face. RIP ❤️🙏
