Funeral services for Mr. James Delbert Booth, age 82, of Fayetteville will be conducted Friday at 11AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mr. Booth passed away Tuesday in Donalson Care Center.
He was a native of Clay County, MS and the son of the late Delbert Manley and Lillian Baxter Landon Booth. Mr. Booth was retired Director of Engineering at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL and continued to volunteer there for 12 years after his retirement. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, Lt. Col. with the Army National Guard and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was an Eagle Scout with Double Palms as well as a Scout Master and Mason.
Survivors include his wife Norma Dubuisson Booth of Fayetteville, daughters, Beverly Anderson and husband Paul of Elora, Angie Huffman and husband Cliff of Sewanee and Brenda Brown of Nashville, son Allen Booth of Fayetteville, grandchildren James Philip Booth, Daniel Booth Brown, Robert Earle Brown, and Zachary Dillon Huffman, granddaughter Noelle Marie Anderson and grandson Samuel Wayne Kellum, great grandchildren Colin, Evan, and Mason Booth. Mr. Booth was preceded in death by son James D. Booth, Jr.
Visitation with the family will be Friday morning 9-11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Cancer Society.
