Funeral services for Mr. James Render (Jim) Carden age 77 of Mulberry will be conducted Thursday at 11AM at Higgins Funeral Home  with Rev. Tommy Ward  officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM in Farrar Hill Cemetery in Noah TN. Mr. Carden passed away Tuesday at Lincoln Medical Center.

A native of Coffee County TN, he was the son of the late John Russell and Miriam Milner Carden   Mr. Carden was a veteran of the U S Army and  retired from NASA . A graduate of MTSU on a basketball scholarship scoring 1069 points in 3 years, he loved woodworking, farming, Charlois cattle and  hunting with his grandsons and granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife Carol Holland Carden, daughter Caren Carden Gabriel (Rick) of Tullahoma, son Chip Carden (Kelly H.) of Prattville, AL., sister Arlena Nickle ( John ) of Albuquerque, NM  brothers Milner Carden ( Martha), Bill Carden  and John Emory Carden ( Carol)

6 grandchildren Sarah Gabriel, Caroline Gabriel, Harris Carden, Reed Gabriel, Healy Carden and Hayden Carden.                             

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home, 213 East Market Street, Fayetteville, TN.   

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
