Funeral service for Mr. James Alton Woodard, age 79, of Petersburg, TN, will be conducted Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Talley Cemetery. Mr. Woodard passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Woodard was a native of Bedford Co., TN, the son of the late Emmett and Clara Casteel Woodard. He was a crane operator for ICP Products and a member of the Howell Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Ruby Joyce Sullivan Woodard of Petersburg, TN, daughter Felicia Sons of Winchester, TN, sons Barry (Andrea) Woodard of Lewisburg, TN, Jeff (Axie) Barnes of Petersburg, TN, sisters Wilma (G.W.) Sanders , Alice Garett, Louise (Jack) Massey, Shirley (Tommy) Bledsoe and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Jerry W. Woodard.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
