Funeral service for Ms. Imogene “Jean” Tanner, age 88, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home, with Rev. Philip Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 9 AM until 10 AM on Monday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Jean was born on November 29, 1932 in Lincoln County, TN to the late James David and Edna Holland Jones. She was a church secretary until her retirement. Jean was a member of the Fayetteville Garden Club and the Fayetteville ARP Church, where she and her husband loved singing in the choir. She passed away at her home on April 8, 2021 with her family by her side.
Jean is survived by her son, David (Marcella) Tanner of Fayetteville; granddaughters, Donna Jean (Bradley) Thompson of Fayetteville and Becca Ann (Will) Booker of Madison, AL; grandson, David Reed (Tameria) Tanner of Fayetteville; and sister, Brenda Cuzze of Austin, TX. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Tanner; and sisters, Dot Hill, Levoid McMillin, and Sadie Garrison.
