Obituary

Funeral service for Henry Lewis Hudson, age 89, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until 11 AM on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Henry was born on July 19, 1933, in Lincoln Co., TN to the late Raymond and Emma Mae Tielking Hudson. He served in the US Army and was a member of the Calvery Christian Fellowship Church. Mr. Hudson loved Harness Racing, owned Harness Horses, and won first place at the Lincoln County Fair in 2000. Henry passed away on September 19, 2022, at Donalson Care Center in Fayetteville.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Jackie) Hovis of Fayetteville; son, Terry (Farley) Newton of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jason Newton, Chad (Sheley) Cowley, Krissy (Nolan) Davis, Brad Cowley, Dreanne Newton, and Chris Hovis; great-grandchildren, Marcus Hyde, Madison Newton, Collin Newton, Rylan Davis, Paisley Cowley, Hudson Cowley, Morgan Cowley, and Jessup Cowley; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Shelton; and a niece, Lynn (Randy) Dunn. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Lou Jacobs Hudson in 2015; and a nephew, Barry Shelton.
