Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Simms, age 87, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2 pm in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery beside her late husband James Virgil Simms. Mrs. Simms passed away Saturday morning at the Lincoln Medical Center.

Mrs. Simms was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the daughter of the late Kelcey Harvie and Annie Mae Kilpatrick Hollis. She was a seamstress for the Blue Ridge Shirt plant and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter Ann Marie (Charles) Simms McGehee of Flintville, TN, son Thomas F. (Carole) Simms of Parks City, TN, daughter-in-law Jerena Simms of Parks City, TN, grandson Craig (Renee) McGehee, granddaughters Stephanie M. (Barry) Watts, Michelle Simms, Mary Simms, great grandchildren Karli McGehee, Abbi Watts, step-great grandchildren Blake Vavak, Brea Vavak, brother Thomas Earl Hollis of Fayetteville, TN, sister Carrie Honea of Fayetteville, TN. Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Simms was preceded in death by son Mike Simms, brothers James Harvey Hollis and Ronald Lee Hollis.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 5 pm until 8 pm at Higgins Funeral Home.
