Funeral services for Hazel Hambrick Simms, age 80 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Mrs. Simms passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at Donalson Care Center.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Isom and Lucille Honea Hambrick. Mrs. Simms was a former factory worker and a member of the Kirkland Baptist Church.
Survivors include sisters Geraldine Crawley, Judy Stafford, Faye (Bill) Payne and Carol Simms Young all of Fayetteville, two brothers Ed (Nell) Hambrick and Reece (Jennie) Hambrick both of Fayetteville, step-son Chris (Lynda) Simms of Tampa, FL, step-daughter Cindy (John) McDonnell of Charlotte, NC, step-grandchildren Dakota Simms, Ryan and Kyle McDonnell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil W. Simms, and brother Bill Hambrick.
Visitation with the family will be conducted Tuesday May 19, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
