Funeral services for Hazel Beatrice LaRue, age 87 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Sunday at 10 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Roy LaRue officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens beside her husband Edward LaRue who passed away in 2006.. Mrs. LaRue passed away Thursday afternoon in Lincoln Care Center.
A native of Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Iva Bennington Whitson. Mrs. LaRue was a former employee of Chrysler and was a member of the Lincoln Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven daughters, Patricia Hicks and husband Jr. of Hazel Green, Peggy Swinford and husband James of Taft, Maxine Walker and husband Larry of Flintville, Laverne Street and husband Jimmy of Fayetteville, Janice Crabtree and husband Jack of Fayetteville, Darlene Clevenger of Fayetteville, and Shelia Quick and husband Benny of Fayetteville, grandchildren, Denise Robertson, Ray Swinford, Kim Carley, Jeff Street, Timmy Street, Monte Walker, Tracy Hillis, Mandy Tucker, Jody Clevenger, Deanna Smith, Dewayne Quick and Hollie Allen, three step grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, sister Sylvia Brassfield of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. LaRue was preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter, grandson Danny Reeves, brothers Dewey Whitson, Joe Whitson, Elmer Whitson, Raymond Whitson, two sisters Grace Lewis, Minnie LaRue and son-in-law Rex Clevenger.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

IT WAS SUCH A HONOR TO BE ABLE TO GET TO KNOW THIS FAMILY. I FIRST MET YALL THROUGH MR. LaRUE WHEN HE WAS AT THE DONALDSON NURSING HOME. MR. HAZEL WAS RIGHT THERE BY HIS SIDE ALONG WITH ALL OF YOU. LEVERNE WOULD ALWAYS LET ME KNOW HOW MRS. HAZEL WAS DOING. I NOW YALL IS GOING TO MISS HER DEARLY BUT SHES PROBALBLY GOT A SMILE ON HER FACE WAITING TO REUNITE WITH MR. LaRUE. SORRY I DIDNT GET TO COME BY BUT I WONT TO LET EVERY ONE OF YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS. I PRAY GOD WILL STRENGTHEN EACH OF YOU AS YOU DEAL WITH THISGREAT LOSS.
