Funeral service for Grace Edwina Moyers Hazelwood, age 78 of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Cemetery.
Edwina was born on December 27, 1943, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Edward Moyers and Gracie Mae Hampton Moyers. She worked as a packer with Frito Lay and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Ms. Hazelwood enjoyed sewing, cooking, spending time on the front porch with her grandchildren, and watching all the kids play sports. Edwina was an avid UT girls’ basketball and Atlanta brave’s fan. Ms. Hazelwood passed away on October 30, 2022.
Survivors include her lifelong partner and dear friend of 50 years, J.E. Harrison of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Michael Burton, Monica (James) Marquis, and Shea (Jordan) Carter all of Manchester; sister, Nancy Geraldine Edde of Fayetteville; brother, Phillip (Carolyn) Moyers of the Howell Community; and great-grandchildren, Darryl Taylor, Kadon Carter, Keira Carter, Carmen Burton, Torrance Taylor, Haley Glenn, Kenneth Logan Burton, Landon Taylor, Hailey Marquis, and Jaxen Marquis; nephews, Mike (Ruby) Edde, Brent (Amanda) Moyers; and great-nephews and great-nieces Kenzie Widner, Macey Widner, Gage Widner, Malisha Widner, Parker Moyers, Leah Jones and Cassie Jones; uncle, Bill Hampton; and cousins, Tommy (Susan) Hampton and family, and Connie (Tim) Porter. Edwina was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Moyers, and Gracie Mae Hampton Moyers; daughter, Teresa Hazelwood Burton.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fabulous Fifties Foundation, P.O. Box 934, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

She was such a dear lady. I’ve got some of her canned okra and pickle relish in my pantry.
I loved that she was always bringing things to her family…such a giving heart.

I am so sorry for this terrible loss, she and her Mom lived on Hatcher Dr. across from my in laws the Whitsetts. She had been so good to Ruth Whitsett and helped her anyway she could. She and Gracie were such great people to her. She and I had been friends in school too. I am so saddened by her loss. Prayers for the family, Hugs,
