Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Glen Riley Moore, age 84, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating.  Burial will follow in Kelso Cemetery.  Mr. Moore passed away Wednesday evening at his residence.

A son of the late John William Moore, Jr. and Mena Riley Moore, he was a native of Dallas, TX , an attorney, and a member of First United Methodist Church.  He attended West End High School in Nashville, was a merchant marine in WWII, worked on Victory Ships after the war, attended MTSU where he met Jane, attended Vanderbilt with the GI Bill, and moved to Fayetteville in 1963 to start his law practice.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Jane Douglas Moore, nephew Glen T. Douglas of Fayetteville, nieces Jennifer Trott of Shelbyville and Ann Lee Morgan of New Market, AL, great-nephews Samuel Byrd Douglas of Winchester, Drew Norman of Fayetteville, and Lee Morris of Murfreesboro, and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-mother Haddie Warren Moore and Richard Byrd Douglas

Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until the time of service Saturday at First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association or to the First United Methodist Church of Fayetteville.
