Obituary

George W. Simmons, age 86 of Kelso, passed from this life September 9, 2013 at his residence.
A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late John Wiley and Clara Simmons. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Jean Simmons of Kelso, sister Jannie Morrison of Hazel Green, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers Tom Simmons, Junior Simmons, sisters Ophelia Lackey, and Evelyn Towry.

Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a carpenter, superintendent of building projects and wood worker with considerable talent.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. John Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside his first wife Mary Sue McAfee Simmons.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 1-2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home

    i am just wondering at this late date 5-8-22 if any Family Member of George Simmons is able to see this message, if they could tell me who George’s Grandfather,
    and Great Grandfather was.
    Its possible, and even likely that we will be related.
