Freda graduated from Flintville High School in 1960. She was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to traditional Christian hymns and gospel music. Her beautiful flowers have been shared by so many friends passing by her home over the decades. She took great joy in preparing favorite recipes for her growing family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her brother Carl Dwayne Brooks and his wife Linda.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Ronald Arrick officiating and Chad Hancock leading music. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  A private burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Vanntown community.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fayetteville First Baptist Church, PO Box 623, Fayetteville, TN 37334, or a charity of your choice.

I was one of freda’s teachers at Flintville highschool in 1957. She was a kind and sweet young lady then as she always remained throughout her life. Newsom and sons, your memories will always be good.

Newsom, children and grandchildren. So so sorry to learn of Freda’s passing. We all had so many good times from childhood thru being next door neighbors when our children were small. We never knew how many kids we would have at any given time. Such precious memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all
