Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Fred Edward Johnson, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted Friday, September 1, 2017 at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Mr. Jayson Davis officiating. Burial to follow in Gum Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born on March 2, 1927 in Flintville, TN to the late John and Ovia Johnson. He served in the United States Army during World War II and later worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years and Montgomery Ward. Before joining the army, Fred worked as a lumberjack for Williams Heading Company in Fayetteville. After retiring from Ford, he worked for the First Presbyterian Church for many years. Fred passed away on August 29, 2017 at Southern Manor.

Survivors include his daughters, Debora Ann (Dave) Haughton and Cynthia (Hoyt) Barnard; son, Clay (Jennifer) Johnson; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Fancher Johnson; daughters, Kimberly Jarman and Sharon Smith; and ten siblings.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11 AM until time of service at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Johnson.
