Graveside service for Mr. Floyd Wilson Cartwright, age 82 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Lincoln Cemetery with Bro. James Strope officiating. Mr. Cartwright passed away Thursday April 23, 2015 at his residence.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Edd and Mattie Simmons Cartwright, Mr. Cartwright was a retired Electrician and Fiberoptic Tech with Redstone Arsenal, and a member of the Highland Rim United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughter Sandra Kern and husband Rod of Dickson, TN son James Alan Cartwright and wife Danette of Fayetteville, grandchildren Brandon Cartwright, Kristi Greer and husband Ed and great grandson Rodney James Kern. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janette Cartwright and brother Joe Cartwright.

There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

    Thank you so much for your kind words. He is in a better place now. He was in very bad shape. But he did pass away in his own home where he wanted to be. Thank you again.

    Sorry to hear about Floyd. He and I worked together at Scovill. He was a good friend to me. Also his second wife Imogene was a good friend. I visited with Floyd while he was in Donalson Nursing Facilitiy. Prayers for you children and grand children. I’m sure you will miss him. May God Bless you and guide you in the coming days.
