I know this is years late but I truly loved Mrs. Sparkman. She was one of a kind and a heck of a teacher. She was honest, kind, and truly good to all of her students. I’ll miss her.

Monte, James, Mary, I knew your mother. We were friends early in our marriages. I lived at Smithland when she lived at Shady Grove. I remember several get-togethers that we enjoyed. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I loved her and I loved her cousin, Betty. We were all friends in college. She always seemed so unhappy. I do hope she was at peace.

She was a good friend to me back in the years. I will cherish the fond memories of her and the good times our families spent together.

I never had the privilege to be in one of your classes while I was at Huntland but you were an inspiration to me and so many others who dared to be ourselves and not follow what was popular. May God comfort your family.

I loved any time spent with Mrs. Sparkman whether it was in the classroom or at her home eating sausage and biscuits while listening to Eric Clapton. I met her when I was a young teen working at Shrader’s Restaurant and later became her drama student. I hope Monte, Jay and Mary find the peace during this sad time.

One of my favorite teachers. She got me to love drama. I took drama 3 times just to be in her plays. Also remember her making us hang at the waist and swing our arms to release tension when being rowdy in her class. Fun times. Awesome teacher.

Ms. Sparkman was one of the most memorable teachers in my K-12 experience! I still talk about her and enjoy my memories I had with her. I loved her spunk and her desire to think differently. I’m so sorry I won’t be able to make it to the funeral and visitation. Ms. Sparkman made an impact on the students at Huntland, and we all speak fondly of her.
