None of the family of Faye Simms will know me, but when Lester and Faye first married they rented a small apartment in my aunt’s house. She was Effie Park West, and her husband was J. Matt West. You might have heard them mention them. We lived in Texas and my dad worked for railroad. Effie was my dad’s sister and since they had no children, we were their family. We spent a month every summer with them and I think the address was 300 block of College St. House is now gone. I think I had a crush on both Faye and Lester and they were always so nice to us. I remember not liking it when they moved out. My sister and I would stop in Lester’s office sometimes when we were there and his office was near that big building on the cornr of the square. I started working on genealogy a few years ago and somehow, I saw someone post something about the Simms family–wrote them–and they gave me their telephone number. I called and had a nice visit with Faye and she remembered me. They were a dear couple and it makes me sad to think they are both gone. My sincere sympathy to all the family.

Lionel and Family – I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mother. She has always been so nice and such a pretty woman. I enjoyed talking to her at the beauty shop while we were waiting. Lester & Faye were two of my very favorite people. After I got over being afraid of Lester in my very early banking career, I grew to love them both very much. My life was blessed to have them in it. You all had a very special treasure in your parents. May it help to know that many lives were touched by them and that heaven is their reward. God bless you in your time of sadness.

Lester and Faye were two of my favorite people. They were always ready to kid around (Lester especially) and had something funny to say every time I saw them. I know it’s been a tough journey with your mother but she is now at peace and is holding Lester’s hand, once again. Bless you all.
