Obituary

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mrs. Faron Kae Hillis, age 55, of Lincoln County, TN. Mrs. Hillis was born on October 19, 1963 in Hinesville, GA to Richard Guy Daugherty and Sunny Rae Powell Baker. Faron worked as a hair stylist at different salons over the past 30 years, owning Faron’s Oasis and more recently she was the owner of Shear Frenzy Salon. She earned her Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Athens State University. Faron had many accomplishments in her life but she was most proud of her children and grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Grammy”. She loved riding Harleys, spending time with her husband, vacationing at the beach with family and friends, drinking coffee, and taking her grandchildren on various adventures. She spent her short time on this Earth laughing with her many friends and family and loving on all of her grandchildren. Faron passed away on January 25, 2019 at her residence after a short illness.

Faron is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Hillis; parents, Richard Guy (Donna) Daugherty and Sunny Rae Powell (Darwin) Baker; children, Racheal (Dewayne) Smith of Albertville, AL, Jessica (Timothy) Barrett of Fayetteville, TN, Jacob Campbell of Fayetteville, TN and Marcie (James) Tait of Fayetteville, TN; step-children, Amber (Andy) Joseph of Fayetteville, TN, Dalton Hillis of Fayetteville, TN and Megan Hillis (fiance BJ Thompson) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Austin Conner, Devonshea Conner, Landon Conner, DeMya Conner, Christopher Smith, Destiny Smith, Aidan Campbell, Kade Roland, Chase Barrett, Shiloh Barrett, Maverick Barrett, Timothy Joseph, and Piper Tait; siblings, Archie Ray (Mark) Knott, II, Krista Wilson of Evansville, IN, Troy Daugherty of Nashville, TN, Kimberly (Justin) Oldendorf of Evansville, IN, and Jeff Baker; mother-in-law, Nancy Hillis; brother-in-law, Kenny Hillis; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Miki Campbell and Darlene Moyers; and a host of other friends and family. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin and Donnie Ray, and beloved dog, Sophie.

A celebration of life for Faron will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Hope Assembly Church, 28 Deer Trace Rd, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday the 16th at 2 PM until time of service at 3 PM at the church. Weather permitting, everyone with a motorcycle is encouraged to ride theirs to the celebration and dress the part.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faron Campbell Hillis Memorial Scholarship Fund at 307 College St E, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or any Bank of Lincoln County location.

You could take one look at that Woman and know that she was Enjoying her Life, Her Way…. that is an Admirable Quality in a Person ! Beautiful, Inside and Out and it seemed that she Absolutely Lived the Width of Her Life as well as the Length. May all who loved her embrace that quality in their own lives. Much Love.

Faron was such a fun-loving, kind, beautiful and talented girl. A friend to everyone and greatly missed by all who knew her. Those we love are never totally gone from us. They remain in our hearts until we are together with them again. I know I will keep a tiny piece of her tucked away in my heart always. Try to take comfort knowing she is in Heaven with Jesus — happy, whole and more beautiful than ever. Prayers of comfort for you all…until we meet her again in Heaven.

So sad to hear this. Have found me.ories of Faron from our time at HRS thru high school. Have 2 favorite memories I’ll share. Once at 4H camp I was being what one would call bullying today. Faron and I at this time knew each other but I wouldn’t day really friends. At that camp, however, she was always for the under dog. She took me in and made me feel special. A other time we had attended a revival together. She asked her mom if I could spend the night. Her mom and my dad I believe also were PTO officers at HRS… anyway, her mom said yes. During the night it hot really chilly. Faron turned on the heat we were very comfortable. Next day her mother was soooo mad at us. How were we to know her mom had the windows open that day and that’s why it was cold. I quote ” Well. Yall have just spent the night heating g the whole outside too. ” oops lol. Those are just 2 of the many yhoughts I’ve had the last week or so. Rest 8n peace Faron. You’ve earned it. Jimmy God bless you and the joy you brought her and the care you gave her. Bless the whole complete family
