Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Eva Lee Kent age 84, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home, with Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow beside her husband Mr. Roy Kent in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Kent passed away August 9, 2016 at Lincoln Care Center.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Lee and Vernie Lee Pirtle Patterson. Mrs. Kent was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son James Randolph; daughters Judy (James “Meaty”) Brown, Hope (Randy) Norris, Donna L. (Billy) May; step-son R.L. Kent and family; step-daughters Jean Gleghorn and Dorothy Nichol; brothers Billy (Peggy) Patterson, and Bobby Patterson; sisters Marie McCall, Daisy Harrison, Linda (Joe) Smith, and Deborah Strzelecki; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend Catherine “Granny” McBay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Patterson and Jerry Patterson; and sisters Jessie Tanner and Frances Jackson.

Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home.

    Our family knew hers years and years ago. I was very young. But we all looked forward to going to their house and them coming to ours. She was witty and always made us laugh. Go to heaven now and worship our LORD! Prayers for ALL your family. GOD give them peace.
