Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Ernest Cook Jr. age 65 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday at 1 pm at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Ennis Hyman officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cook passed away at his residence Saturday evening.

A native of Kinnard, FL. He was the son of the late Ernest and Emarene Sweat Cook Sr. Mr Cook was a repair man for Amana and Goodman Manufacturing, and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Sara Mills Cook, of Fayetteville, step son Johnny Vaughn of Fayetteville, step daughter Teresa Vaughn Spelce of Moores Mill, AL. brothers Eugene Cook of Bristol, FL. Chester Cook of Grand Ridge, FL. sister Carolyn Cook Goff of Bristol, FL. step grandchildren Sara Beth Spelce, Deborah Vaughn, and John Vaughn Jr. and great grandson Thomas Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Lincoln County Home Health and Hospice.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 – 8 pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

    I want to express my condolences to Aunt Sara and Junior’s family. I found Jr to be a down to earth, honest, funny, and hard working family man and I especially came to admire him for his stamina and courage. Jr fought the good fight and I know he is at peace. God bless him and all who loved him.

    I am saddened to read of the passing of Ernie. I enjoyed working with him. The last time I saw ya’ll was at Mildred’s and he looked very sick. So sorry for your loss.
