It is with regret we announce the passing of Ellen Jean Black, age 69, of Fayetteville, TN. Ellen was born on March 10, 1952 in Queens, NY to the late Marion Ray and Wanda Marie Wasson Black. She passed away, in her sleep, on August 1, 2021 at her residence.

Ellen attended college majoring in French. She lived in Japan for 3 years, teaching Japanese businessmen the English language. In the US she worked as a Project Manager with TAI. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Mrs. Black was a good cook, when she chose too. Ellen enjoyed raising, caring for, and showing her Schipperke Dogs. She was an active fundraiser for SchipperkeRescue.net (SRN).

Survivors include her beloved husband, William Heney; step-son, Patrick Heney and wife Sonya; and sister, Elaine Laux and husband Steve. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her brother, Marion Black.

There are no services planned at this time.
