Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betsy” Moore, age 86 of Fayetteville will be conducted Monday November 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband of 57 years Mr. Harold Moore who passed away in 2009. Mrs. Moore passed away Friday November 6, 2015 at her residence.
She was a native of Goldsboro, NC and the daughter of the late Roger and Elizabeth Herring Peele. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and worked in the family business. She was a member of the Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church where she served as elder, a choir member and co-chair of the Presbyterian Women. She was very active in community service and loved to travel and take trips with her girls.
Survivors include four daughters, Dianne (Joe) Prosser, Linda (Allen) Wilson, Susan (Glen) Graham and Kimberly Leasure who passed away in 2008, grandchildren, Trey (Jenna) Prosser, Kevin Prosser, Shane Stewart, Betsy Stewart, Stephen Wilson, Michelle Wilson, Bobby (Shanna) Graham, Kayla Graham and Crystal Viveros, great-grandchildren Joseph Prosser, Evelyn Prosser, Mattie Graham, Justin Graham, Elizabeth, Carlos, Rosalie Viveros and Richard Tamariz. She leaves behind sisters Edith Wright, Bobbie and Retha Peele, Dolly Ulichnie and numerous precious nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
She lived life to the fullest and blessed many people along the way. Mrs. Moore was a 26 year cancer survivor and a member of Bosom Buddies Support Group.
In addition to her parents, husband and daughter she was preceded in death by brothers Marvin and twin brother Bob
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, FPC Youth Fund, or the Alpha Kappa Scholarship Fund.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday November 8, 2015 5-7 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

I am heartsick to hear this so late. Ms. Betsy was a good friend and has been on our Board of Directors for several years. She was always there for me and a strong supporter of recycling in Lincoln Co. She will be greatly missed. Gail Randolph

Dianne, I am so, so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet mother. She has been a favorite friend of mine since I first met her in the Mother’s Club about 35 years ago. She has always been a lovely Southern lady.
Betsy was my very dear friend since she came to Fayetteville.She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed for her many kind deeds and sweet smile.
Dear Allen, Linda, Michelle and Stephen, We were saddened upon hearing of Betsy’s departure. She was always such an inspiration when attending our worship services in the Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church. She radiated joy through her personality and appearance. Separation is always painful. You can be comforted in knowing she is now with her family where rejoicing is taking place. Please know of our prayers and those of the dear folks in the Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church.
