Obituary

Funeral services for Edward Bryan Brooks, age 34 of Athens, AL formerly of Fayetteville, will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart’s Cemetery. Mr. Brooks passed away Friday in Athens.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Joan Yvette Caldwell Brooks and Dennis Morgan Brooks who survives. He was a truck driver and a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his father includes a sister Brittany Brooks of Fayetteville, fiancee Bonnie Adams of Athens, AL, aunts Kathy (Tom) Gilliand of Fayetteville, Mellea (Mike) Bradford of Fayetteville, Anita (Larry) Southard of Athens, AL, Debbie (Billy) Rouse of Athens, AL, uncles Bobby Goodwin, Barry Craig and Chris Craig all of Athens, AL, nephew Corbin Simmons of Fayetteville, cousins Alexis, Taylor and Haley Gilliand all of Nashville, TN. In addition to his mother, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by grandparents Yvonne and Edward Caldwell and Shirley Louise Brooks.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 11 am until time of services at 1:30pm at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

    i hadn’t seen bryan since he was about 2years old but i knew joan for many years. my son chris (weasel) lancaster was a friend of his and it effected him deeply when he heard the news. i know he was truly loved by his momma and i send my thoughts and prayers for the family and friends .
