I am so saddened to learn of her passing. I enjoyed sitting on her front porch listening to her memories of days gone by. Much love and hugs to Pammy and Tammy and the rest of the family. I am blessed to have gotten to know her even if only for a short time.

Doris Sanders was a amazing role model! I don’t if she even realized just how many young women looked up to her. Fred and Doris became family back in 1986 when Fred became my father’s sponsor (Howard W) and my mother (Phyllis W)attended Al-anon with Doris. The impact these 2 beautiful people made ,and the memories shared will live on in my heart and the hearts of so many others. My prayers are with the Sanders children and grandchildren. Doris is now safe in the arms of Jesus. We Love you dearly Doris. Until we meet again

Doris, Fred, Jacie W. and I were all riding back from a meeting. We were talking about our past lives, 3 alcoholics versus Doris the Alanon. Doris was talking and laughing about some of what she went through, and it just blew me away. If I had been Doris, I’d have had to at the very least divorced him. I’d have gotten rid of me, for that matter! But Doris just sat there laughing and talking about how she used to go get Fred more alcohol, and go get him. Then he finally got sober! She was a saint!!!! I’m sure she’s fixing the gardens up in Heaven right now, adding water features and beautiful flowers. I love you Doris Sanders!
